Chamber musician and teacher, Jose Garcia-Taborda is an active performer around Latin America, the United States, Europe, and Asia. Garcia-Taborda has been a clarinet faculty member in renowned universities like Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts in the USA and institutions in Medellin-Colombia, including IberAcademy. As a guest artist has taught in South America, Malaysia, Singapore, and the USA. He has performed extensively with the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra and the EAFIT Symphony Orchestra and is the founder of numerous chamber ensembles in Colombia and The United States, such as Orduz-Garcia Duo and Anari Ensemble. His recordings include the album Portraits of Colombia with Orduz-Garcia Duo and recordings of pieces by Colombian composers as a collaborator.
Mr. Garcia-Taborda is an LRSM, holds a Master’s Degree from EAFIT University with Asdrúbal Vinasco, and an Artist Diploma from Duquesne University with Ron Samuels. He plays exclusive Yamaha clarinets and is a BG France and Légère Artist.
